Job Title: Administrative Assistant/ Ministry Support Position Status: Full-Time

Location: Debre Berhan Holy Trinity Ethiopian Orthodox Church 4406 Broadway Blvd, Garland, TX 75043

Work Start Date: March 1/2022
PURPOSE: To provide services including administrative, financial, and building related coordination to church staff and church members.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Administration Service Related (Including but not limited to):

  •   Maintain members portals using applicable software

  •   Provide front desk service (accepting calls, messages, etc) and forward to appropriate staff

    member

  •   Provide support and maintenance of the church website

  •   Coordinate outgoing and incoming letters/messages to members and/or other organizations

    with a direction from the church management

  •   Accept service requests and coordinate with appropriate staff

  •   Support the church program and the departments including their annual planning

  •   Maintain the Church building operation schedule on a daily bases

  •   Provide other support as assigned.

Financial Service Related (Including but not limited to):

  •   Prepare annual giving statements

  •   Communicate with church members with their dues

  •   Data Entry: weekly contributions, event payments, and other payments to general fund, building

    fund, special funds, and donor designated funds

  •   Enter all invoices submitted for payment for the organization and prepare payments for mailing

  •   Prepare weekly and monthly reports for Church leadership and individual ministry teams

  •   Maintain filing system

  •   Perform other necessary and related work as assigned

    Building Maintenance Coordination Related (Including but not limited to):

  •   Provide support the church building maintenance section

  •   Assist in coordination with vendors

  •   Record and keep documentation of all the church properties and maintain the data base

  •   Document all building related maintenances

  •   Provide support on purchasing items for building supplies and maintenance

  •   Provide other support tasks as assigned.

    JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  •   Accounting related knowledge is preferable.

  •   Comfortable to work on administrative related software

  •   Good in Amharic and English speaking, writing and communication skill

  •   Demonstrated Christian faith commitment.

  •   Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills including MS Word, Excel, etc.

  •   Knowledge of QuickBooks is a plus

  •   Attention to detail and precision in report generation

  •   Commitment to good interpersonal relationships, teamwork, and support of church ministries

  •   Commitment to confidentiality regarding all account records, church staff, and the members
